Happy National Day 09

AHHH National day break is over so soon! Why????

Anyway, with the temperature taking exercises going on and off almost everyday, everybody can now show off how innovative the school really is by… Making funny monster pictures with the green stickers and the sticker disposal board.

So everyday there would be a new monster picture with tentacles and many legs and hands. But what makes last friday’s monster so special was that it had a name :o And, the very creative designer was caught in the act, placing the name card in a very artistic position, playing with the contrast of colours. The president of the SCL club (Owen Tan, that’s the name on the card) must be so proud to have his name card displayed in such an elegant fashion. Who could the designer be? Take a look at the pictures, you be the judge.

What do you see? What do you see? Have you ever wondered, who could it be? Hahas. I dunno who it is but it could be Yu Yong, since she is running away so quick that all the camera could capture is a blurry figure. Or could it be Geoff? Just look at how proud he is of the name card monster! Or could it be Jack? For he is neither male or female, and he looks suspicious in every way, could he be the mastermind behind this work of art? Nobody would ever know muahahahahahaha.

And last but not least, happy national day to you all, and happy birthday Geoff. Hope you enjoyed “studying” this past few days hahahhas :D

Holiday

Blog post by Khairul, PS0701

The school holidays have just ended and I begin to recap on what I did for the long school break. I spend most of my time being proactive mostly filling up my schedule with the things I usually do not have time to do during the school days. The activities range from swimming to working round the clock. Trying to maximize my time during the long break, I tried to juggle 2 jobs at once. However it did not turn out well. I was very tired once I ended my shift. With the objective of trying to earn as much money as possible during the short time frame, I persevered thorough the fatigue. At times like this, do I really realize how an easy life students lead compared to the working adults. One of the things I also did was to spring clean. As my room was messier than a pig sty, my mum ordered me to clean the room. Considering that a lot of the junk lying around the room belonged to my siblings, I immediately told them to clean up their mess. Once the room was cleared and the new furniture went into the room, it looked abit tidier. Trying to prove my point that the mess did not originate from my untidiness, I took a picture of my stuff separated from the junk lying around.

Needless to say the one in the neat stacked boxes was my stuff compared to my sibling’s junk pile.

During my journey to work, I saw something out of the ordinary. I saw 4 dustbins being put in the same area. I found it rather pointless putting more than one garbage bin in the same spot. Needless to say that four dustbins was rather redundant and unnecessary. While pondering on the sight, I actually saw a boy who stood in the middle of all four dustbins and thinking carefully which bin should he discard his rubbish in. I must say it was an amusing sight.

Night at the Museum 2 : Battle of the Smithsonian
Blog contributed and post by Norbert Ha 075302H MB0702

Have you ever watched the American adventure comedy film – Night At The Museum in the year 2006? Night At The Museum 2 is coming back this year!

Once again, our hero is Larry Daley (Ben Stiller), a former museum night guard who has gone on to become a rich and successful businessman, owning a company that sells devices like those glow-in-the-dark torches in infomercials. When Larry pops into New York’s Museum of Natural History, he discovers that his old exhibition buddies from the first film — Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), the miniature cowboy Jedediah (Owen Wilson), Octavius (Steve Coogan) — are being packed up and sent off to the Smithsonian Institute for storage.

Later, Larry gets a distressed call from Jedediah and heads off to the Smithsonian, in Washington DC, to find out what’s going on. He discovers that the Egyptian ruler Kahmunrah (Hank Azaria), with the assistance of Ivan the Terrible (Christopher Guest), Al Capone (Jon Bernthal) and Napoleon Bonaparte (Alain Chabat), plans to unleash his Army of the Underworld and conquer the world! It’s up to Larry and his new sidekick — and romantic interest — Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams), to stop them.

The below is the trailer for Night At The Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian. The movie is now on in cinema! My friends and I ranked the movie 4 stars out of 5. It’s worth to watch!

Did you realize that our school TABLE TENNIS went for competition?

Events are not announced to the school unlike primary and secondary school times. Little achievements or much efforts put in are appreciated.

My friend and i went down to Toa Payoh Table Tennis Association to watch our NYP table tennis group playing in an open division.
There are wins and falls. You can FEEL the stress, especially when you have to compete individually.

NYP Library

2 06 2008

Blog Post by MB0801

Library is a place where I believe that most NYP student stayed most of their time, during the break, before and after lessons. Our library has great facilities for us to revise, it has great books where we can refer to for our report and provide us more information about module where we can’t get from our lecture. We can also get our printing done for the extra the information from the books in the library. There is also discussion room where the student can have their project done without any interruption. Sometimes it is hard to do any revision in level four due to the noise level. Students who want a quieter environment for revision, they may choose to go to the level five. There are also computers in the library for the student to do their research if they didn’t bring theirs and the CD area where student can catch up on the movies that they have missed. Not forgetting the Café in the library, where I always get to have my favorites “hot dog bun” and other more. It is a place where students can relax and have a time to socialize with their friends or even played a song with the piano. It is great place for student to relieve their stress as there are a lot more CD areas for student to enjoy their food and at same time enjoy the movie.
