DPS Student Study Trip to Hong Kong and Macau

A total of 23 DPS students led by lecturers Ms Geraldine Yong and Dr Henry Leung visited Hong Kong and Macau from 18 – 23 Sep for a study trip. 
 

Inaugural Jiangnan University-NYP Joint Scientific Conference

This inaugural Jiangnan University-Nanyang Polytechnic Joint Scientific Conference aims to foster stronger industry ties between Singapore and China through the sharing of current issues, new developments and trends in food and biotechnology industries in the two countries. Held at Nanyang Polytechnic on 23 and 24 September 2008, the 2-day conference is delivered by faculty members and well-known representatives from the industry and government agencies.

Science in Action @ NYP

The workshop “Science-in-Action@NYP” was conducted from 9am-1pm on 19 Sep 2008. This workshop is based on the theme of Science.08 “The Science of Speed”, and concepts of ultracentrifugation and its applications were introduced to Sec3-4 students.  28 students from 5 schools (Nanyang Girls’ High, Dunman High, Crescent High, Damai Sec, Riverside Sec) turned up for this event. The students enjoyed the activities and learnt something new from this workshop.

Staff and Students of SCL Celebrated the Mid Autumn’s Festival

SCL Food Science Lecturer Awarded ADA Fellowship

Thomas Teh, food science lecturer of SCL (LS) has been selected to receive the 2008 First International Nutritionist/Dietitian (FIND) Fellowship for Study in the USA from the American Dietetic Association Foundation. He will be recognized at the ADA Foundation’s Gala held during ADA’s Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo in October.
